Latest USA News reports that US President Donald Trump has warned Venezuela’s interim president, Delsi Rodríguez, that failing to follow US directives could lead to consequences even worse than those faced by Nicolás Maduro. Trump made this statement during an interview with a magazine.

A day earlier, Trump said that US Secretary of State Marco Rubio had spoken with Delsi, who expressed willingness to act according to US guidance to improve conditions for Venezuelans. However, Delsi later told TV audiences that Nicolás Maduro remains the legitimate president and criticized US attempts to capture him.

Trump added that if Delsi cooperates with US instructions, American troops will not be deployed in Venezuela. Venezuela’s Supreme Court had previously authorized Delsi to act as interim president.

The warning comes after the US military operation in which Maduro was captured. Trump personally observed the operation live. He also said the US would determine Venezuela’s next leader and emphasized that American oil companies would play a key role in the country’s oil sector.

Trump criticized Maduro for releasing prisoners and allowing drug mafias to operate unchecked, which justified the US military action. The CIA reportedly tracked Maduro’s location using intelligence before the operation. Latest USA News highlights that this marks a significant moment in US-Venezuela relations and global politics.
