During this special commemorative event, featured in the Latest Punjab news headlines, global faith leaders honoured Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib Ji. Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann and AAP convener Arvind Kejriwal also offered their respects.
Chief Minister Mann said that Punjab is the land of Gurus and martyrs. He stated that Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib Ji always inspired people to fight injustice. He added that Guru Sahib’s sacrifice for human rights guides the world even today.
Mann announced several year-long programs for the anniversary. The state arranged a tent city, large parking zones, and mini buses. It also deployed 700 electric rickshaws and more transport services. The Nagar Kirtan began in Srinagar and will reach Sri Anandpur Sahib through Hoshiarpur. The government also plans updates to the school curriculum.
Arvind Kejriwal said history offers no example equal to Guru Sahib’s martyrdom. He confirmed funds for the development of 142 villages touched by Guru Sahib.
The event at Baba Budha Dal Cantonment gathered leaders from Sikh, Hindu, Muslim, Christian, Buddhist, Jain, and Jewish communities. Sikh leaders Baba Balbir Singh, Baba Harnam Singh Khalsa, and Baba Seva Singh stressed the message of peace and humanity.
RSSB chief Baba Gurinder Singh Dhillon and Baba Kashmir Singh called Guru Sahib’s sacrifice an eternal beacon. Rabbi Dr. Malekar from New Delhi praised him as the greatest defender of religious freedom.
Father John, Sri Sri Ravi Shankar, and Haji Syed Salman Chishti also paid tribute. They described Guru Sahib’s message as universal and timeless.
Punjab Education Minister Harjot Singh Bains and Tourism Minister Tarunpreet Singh Sondh welcomed the spiritual leaders. They urged everyone to spread Guru Sahib’s teachings worldwide, keeping this event among the Latest Punjab news headlines.
