In the latest Defence News India, India’s External Affairs Minister, Dr. S. Jaishankar, sharply criticized Pakistan for allegedly adopting terrorism as a state policy. Speaking to students and intellectuals at IIT Madras, he stated that India has the full right to take all necessary measures to ensure its national security. Decisions regarding counter-terrorism operations will be made solely by India.
Referring to the Indus Water Treaty, Dr. Jaishankar highlighted the contradiction in Pakistan encouraging terrorism against India while simultaneously expecting cooperation on water-sharing. In his words, “blood and water cannot flow together.”
He further stressed that international agreements and good neighborly relations must be based on trust and peace. He warned that if terrorism continues for decades, no benefits can be expected from such relations. His statements are being interpreted as a clear reflection of India’s firm and principled foreign policy stance.
This development is a significant update in Defence News India, emphasizing India’s resolve to safeguard its borders and national interests.
