According to the latest Canada Headline News in Punjabi, Canadians traveling to the U.S. or returning home must follow new border rules. U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) will now take photographs of all non-U.S. citizens, including Canadians, when they enter and exit the country. These rules apply at air, land, and sea ports.

CBP expanded its biometric system to track travelers’ movements. The system scans facial features and fingerprints. In some cases, officials collect fingerprints and store the data for up to 75 years.

CBP clarified that this process is not surveillance. It is a transparent identification system, and travelers receive clear information about it. Officials said the system will strengthen security and speed up travel.

Meanwhile, Statistics Canada reported a 30% drop in Canadians returning by car from the U.S. in October. The new rules may affect cross-border travel. This update has been widely covered in Canada Headline News in Punjabi.
