In a major update highlighted in Latest Punjab News in Punjabi, the Akal Takht secretariat, acting on the orders of Jathedar Giani Kuldeep Singh Gurgajj, urged Sikh Parliament members to convince the central government to officially change the name of the younger Sahibzade’s martyrdom day from ‘Veer Bal Diwas’ to ‘Sahibzade Shaheedi Diwas’. The Jathedar directed the secretariat to take this step to preserve the historical and spiritual accuracy of the occasion.
The secretariat sent the joint letter to several leaders, including Lok Sabha members Dr. Amar Singh, Gurjit Singh, Bibi Harsimrat Kaur, Malvinder Singh, Sukhjinder Singh, Gurmeet Singh, Sher Singh, Sarabjit Singh, Charanjit Singh, Amritpal Singh, Amarinder Singh, Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri, and Rajya Sabha members Harbhajan Singh and Vikramjit Singh. These leaders now hold the responsibility to take the issue forward at the national level.
This development continues to gain attention in Latest Punjab News in Punjabi, as Sikh institutions push strongly to honor the legacy of the Sahibzade with its rightful name.
