In a major spiritual event covered under India News Punjab, a grand Nagar Kirtan was organized from Safailabad to Sultanpur Lodhi to celebrate the 556th Parkash Purab (birth anniversary) of Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji.

During this sacred procession, Sant Balbir Singh Seechewal distributed 3,500 saplings as prasad (holy offering), encouraging environmental awareness among the devotees. The Nagar Kirtan began from Gurdwara Gursar Sahib, Safailabad, and concluded at Nirmal Kutiya, Vaiṅ, covering a distance of 28 kilometers under the leadership of the Panj Piaras (Five Beloved Ones).

Speaking on the occasion, Sant Seechewal appealed to the Sikh sangat to contribute towards protecting nature, saying, “Planting trees is a noble act, but caring for them is even more important.” He also expressed deep concern over Punjab’s rising pollution levels and deteriorating air quality, urging collective efforts to preserve the environment.

The event, highlighted by India News Punjab, also featured Gatka (Sikh martial arts) performances and participation from various religious and social leaders. Devotees from different parts of the state joined the Nagar Kirtan with great devotion, celebrating Guru Nanak Dev Ji’s teachings of peace, service, and equality.
