Latest India News Today reports that Prime Minister Narendra Modi stressed that India is pushing forward rapid reforms and emerging as a dependable destination for global investors. He shared this message while virtually inaugurating Safran’s new MRO (Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul) facility in Hyderabad.
Modi explained that the new MRO setup will open up strong employment opportunities for India’s youth and accelerate the country’s fast-growing aviation sector. He highlighted that India now runs one of the world’s fastest-expanding aviation markets, with domestic airlines already placing orders for over 1,500 aircraft.
The Prime Minister added that Indian airlines still send nearly 85% of their aircraft maintenance work to foreign countries, which raises operational costs and causes long delays. To change this situation, the government plans to build India into a major global MRO hub.
Safran stated that it will begin operating its LEAP-engine MRO facility in 2026, and the company aims to push its annual revenue in India beyond 3 billion euros by 2030. Latest India News Today notes that this project will boost India’s technical strength, attract fresh investment, and create new aviation-sector jobs across the country.
