As reported in Latest Punjab News in Punjabi, the five Sikh high priests (Panj Singh Sahiban) met today at Sri Akal Takht Sahib. The meeting followed police cases filed by the government in the matter of 328 missing sacred scriptures. The Sikh clergy warned the government to stop interfering in Sikh internal matters. They said continued interference would invite action under Panthic traditions.
The Panj Singh Sahiban clearly restated the ban on conducting Anand Karaj ceremonies in marriage palaces, resorts, beaches, parks, and commercial farms. They said this ban already exists. They also warned that violators will face strict action.
In another resolution, the Sikh high priests banned the creation of films or animation movies depicting Sikh Gurus, their family members, Sikh warriors, or religious traditions. They instructed the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) to inform major film producers across India. As highlighted in Latest Punjab News in Punjabi, the directive makes it clear that no film related to Sikh history can be produced without SGPC approval.
