In one of the major highlights from the Latest India News Today, President Droupadi Murmu stated that the Constitution serves as a guiding document that encourages India to move away from a colonial mindset and adopt nationalistic thinking.

While speaking at the Constitution Day event in the Central Hall of the old Parliament buildingโ€”now renamed the โ€˜Constitution Houseโ€™โ€”President Murmu said that India is presenting a new development model to the world. She added, โ€œOur Constitution makers wanted strong protection for our individual and democratic rights. The Constitution guides us to reject colonial thinking and embrace a nationalistic approach.โ€

She also highlighted, โ€œBringing 25 crore people out of poverty is one of the biggest achievements of the country. Women, youth, SCs, STs, farmers, the middle class, and the new middle class are strengthening our democratic system.โ€

In another important update featured in the Latest India News Today, President Murmu released the digital version of the Constitution in nine regional languagesโ€”Malayalam, Marathi, Nepali, Punjabi, Bodo, Kashmiri, Telugu, Odia, and Assamese. The event also included a collective reading of the Preamble, led by the President herself.
