Prime Minister Narendra Modi departed from Jordan to Ethiopia during the second leg of his four-day, three-nation tour. This development is part of Breaking News India updates.
Jordan’s Crown Prince Al Hussein bin Abdullah personally drove Prime Minister Modi to the airport. He warmly saw him off before departure.
This marks Prime Minister Modi’s first visit to Ethiopia. During the visit, he will address a joint session of the Ethiopian Parliament. He will highlight India’s role as the “Mother of Democracy.” He will also stress the importance of the India–Ethiopia partnership for the Global South.
Prime Minister Modi will hold bilateral talks with Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed Ali. He will also meet members of the Indian community living in Ethiopia.
Earlier, Prime Minister Modi visited Jordan at the invitation of King Abdullah. India and Jordan signed key agreements during the visit. These include culture, renewable energy, water management, and digital public infrastructure. Both sides also signed a twinning agreement between Petra and Ellora.
After completing his Ethiopia visit, Prime Minister Modi will travel to Oman. This will be the final leg of his official tour and another key update in Breaking News India.
