According to Amritsar News in Punjabi, the Five Singh Sahibaan announced a major decision regarding GNDU Vice-Chancellor Dr. Karamjit Singh at Sri Akal Takht Sahib.

Jathedar Giani Kuldeep Singh Gargajj referred to a press conference held in South India in August 2025. A video of Dr. Karamjit Singh went viral and received many complaints at the Akal Takht.

The Jathedar said Dr. Karamjit Singhโ€™s remarks conflicted with Sikh philosophy. He asked if the Vice-Chancellor would apologize to the entire Panth. Dr. Karamjit Singh replied, โ€œYes.โ€

He then asked if Dr. Singh considered the Sikh community a unique and distinct nation. Dr. Singh again said, โ€œYes.โ€

Finally, the Jathedar questioned if the Vice-Chancellor would ensure no university activity harms Sikh identity. He also asked if he would take a pledge before the Akal Takht and the Panth. Dr. Karamjit Singh confirmed, โ€œYes.โ€
