Punjab Assembly Speaker Seeks Governor’s Approval for Special Session in Anandpur Sahib

Latest News of Punjab in Punjabi highlights that the Punjab Vidhan Sabha is preparing a special session in Anandpur Sahib on November 24 to commemorate the 350th martyrdom anniversary of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji. Speaker Kultar Singh Sandhwan has sent an official request to Governor Gulab Chand Kataria seeking permission to hold this historic session.

Once the Governor grants approval, the meeting will be hosted at the Bhai Jaita Ji Memorial in Anandpur Sahib. The gathering will focus on the life, supreme sacrifice, and teachings of Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib Ji. Seating and logistical arrangements for the Speaker, Chief Minister, MLAs, and other dignitaries are already in progress.

Latest News of Punjab in Punjabi also notes that the Punjab Vidhan Sabha will conduct a mock legislative session for students on November 26. Training for selected participants will take place on November 19. One student from each of the 117 constituencies will represent their area as an MLA, while others will take on key roles such as Speaker and Chief Minister. This initiative aims to provide young people with real exposure to democratic functioning, legislative procedures, and parliamentary conduct.
