The Latest News of Punjab in Punjabi highlights a spiritual event marking the 350th martyrdom anniversary of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji. The sacred Nagar Kirtan, which began from Gurdwara Dhubri Sahib in Assam, departed from Gurdwara Gangsar Sahib, Kartarpur, for its next phase after an overnight stay, carrying a message of unity and faith across regions.
During the ceremony, Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) President Harjinder Singh Dhami appealed to parents to inspire their children to maintain their Sikh identity (Sikhi roop), emphasizing the importance of preserving the rich Sikh heritage.
Dhami also shared that during the Battle of Kartarpur, Guru Hargobind Sahib Ji was moved by the courage and martial skill of Tyag Mal Ji, who was later named Tegh Bahadur for his bravery.
As the Nagar Kirtan reached Lidhra, CRPF officers and soldiers warmly welcomed it with a salute, while Sikh devotees showered flower petals along the route to honor the event.
Senior SGPC officials including Secretary Kulwant Singh Mannan, members Jathedar Ranjit Singh Kahlon, and Harvinder Singh Rinku were present during the procession.
This grand religious journey, celebrating faith and history, truly represents the spirit of Punjab — shared here as part of the Latest News of Punjab in Punjabi by Apna Punjab Media.
