Addressing the world leaders’ summit in the Egyptian city of Sharm El-Sheikh after the end of the Israel-Hamas war in Gaza, Trump said he believes that “India and Pakistan will live together very beautifully.”
Looking toward Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, who was standing behind him, Trump added, “India is a great country, led by my very good friend, who has done a wonderful job. I believe Pakistan and India will coexist beautifully.”
Earlier, Trump also praised Shehbaz Sharif and his “favorite field marshal,” Pakistan’s Army Chief General Asim Munir, and invited Sharif to address the gathering. Sharif said that peace in the Middle East is the result of President Trump’s “consistent efforts.”
