US Says Interim Government In Bangladesh Vital For Long-Term Peace And Stability

Washington: Apna Punjab Media: The United States has said it is ready to work with the interim government of Bangladesh as the country charts a democratic future for its people. An interim government led by Nobel laureate Muhammad Yunus is scheduled to be sworn in in Bangladesh on Thursday. State Department spokesman Matthew Miller said, Responding to questions on the rapid developments in Bangladesh, Miller said, “We continue to monitor developments in Bangladesh and we clearly see that the appointment of Mohammad Yunus as the leader of the interim government will play an important role. ” The State Department spokesperson said that all decisions of the interim government must respect democratic principles, the rule of law and the will of the Bangladeshi people. โWe understand that Nobel laureate Muhammad Yunus has agreed to lead the interim government of Bangladesh. We are ready to work with the interim government. Because it represents a democratic future for the people of Bangladesh, the spokesperson said in response to a question. Yunus urged everyone to remain calm and “refrain from all forms of violence” to make the best of “our new victory”. Appealed.
