I don’t need Thakur’s apology: Congress leader Rahul Gandhi
New Delhi: BJP MP Anurag Thakur’s controversial remarks regarding Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi created an uproar in the lower house today. Rahul Gandhi has accused Thakur of ‘insulting and abusing’ him. Speaking during the budget debate, Thakur said that people who do not know their caste are speaking on the issue of caste census. On this the Congress leader said that whoever talks about tribals, Dalits and backward people gets abused. There was a huge uproar in the House on Thakur’s above comment. However, Jagdambika Pal, who was running the proceedings of the House on that occasion, asked to remove the controversial comments made by Thakur from the proceedings of the House. It is noteworthy that Rahul Gandhi had said in the Lok Sabha on Monday that the group of six people has trapped the entire country in a cycle, which the ‘Bharat’ alliance will break. He had claimed that the Bharat Alliance would ensure legal guarantee of MSP and passing of caste census in the House. Anurag Thakur said during the budget debate in the House today, “Those who do not know their caste, they talk about caste census. I would like to remind the Speaker that in this very House a former Prime Minister RG-1 (Rajiv Gandhi) had opposed reservation for OBCs. In response, Rahul Gandhi said, “Whoever raises the issues of tribals, Dalits and backward people is abused.” I happily accept this abuse… Anurag Thakur abused and insulted me. But I don’t need any apology from him.
