New Delhi: Apna Punjab Media: Tributes were paid in the Lok Sabha today to thousands of people who died in the atomic bomb attacks on the Japanese cities of Hiroshima and Nagasaki in August 1945. During World War II, bombs were dropped on Hiroshima on 6 August and Nagasaki on 9 August. Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla, remembering the victims, said that even after many years, people are struggling with the after-effects of the bomb. He expressed his commitment towards global peace. The members in the House paid tribute to the Japanese people by observing silence. Later, External Affairs Ministry spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal shared the video of the discussion in the House on ‘X’.
