Assembly Speaker Kuldeep Singh Pathania administered the oath
Shimla: Apna Punjab Media: Himachal Pradesh Assembly Speaker Kuldeep Singh Pathania administered oath to three newly elected MLAs, including Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu’s wife Kamlesh Thakur. The Chief Minister, Leader of Opposition, Cabinet Minister and other members were present in this swearing-in ceremony held in the House. Those who took oath as assembly members included Congress MLA Kamlesh Thakur, elected from Dehra assembly seat, Hardeep Singh Bawa, elected from Nalagarh seat, and BJP MLA Ashish Sharma, elected from Hamirpur assembly constituency.
After the election of these three MLAs, all 68 members in the Assembly are complete. The number of Congress MLAs has reached 40, while BJP has 28 MLAs. For the first time in the history of Himachal Pradesh, there is no independent MLA. Similarly, this is also the first time that the Chief Minister and his wife are members of the same House. Talking to the media here, Chief Minister Sukhu accused BJP of conspiring to destabilize the government by horse-trading of MLAs.
