Surrey: Apna Punjab Media: A driver died in a horrific collision between two semi-trucks on Highway 17 in Surrey, Canada last week. The semi-trailer’s Punjabi driver, Sandeep Singh Cheema, 41, died from his injuries, Surrey Police said. Sandeep Singh Cheema (41), father of the two girls involved in the accident, was on his way to his workplace to park his trailer for the night after finishing his work. Sandeep has two daughters – 6 year old Sargun and 2 year old Mehar and his wife’s name is Manjeet.
Let us tell you that Sandeep was just one step away from finishing his shift and meeting his family. The collision occurred on Tuesday, July 16, between two semi-trailers. Both drivers and a passenger were taken to hospital, of whom Sandeep died a week later. After fighting for life and death in the ICU for several days, Sandeep could not bear his injuries and bid goodbye to this world, leaving his daughters and wife alone. Sandeep Cheema moved to Surrey as an immigrant in 2012 after his father died in a car accident the same year and his mother also died a few months later in 2013. Let us tell you that Sandeep’s organs have also been donated so that someone else’s life can be saved. A fundraising event to help the surviving family pay for housing and other expenses had raised just over $51,000 as of Monday morning, with a goal of $150,000.
