Sydney: Apna Punjab Media: A model of Sri Akal Takht Sahib, damaged during the 1984 riots, will soon be displayed in a museum in Australia. In June, the Australian government had met Amritsar-based paper artist Gurpreet Singh and asked him to prepare such a model. Gurpreet Singh says that he has prepared two models.
Gurpreet Singh told that along with the damaged model, he has also prepared a model of Shri Akal Takht Sahib built before 1984. This is the first model of Sri Akal Takht Sahib made before 1984 in the world. At present Gurpreet Singh himself is in Australia. He has designed these models himself. Both of these models are made using solid wood fiber and various other folder chemical materials. Paper artist Gurpreet Singh said that the main objective of making this model is to describe the struggle of the Sikh Panth for justice for the last 40 years. This model is dedicated to the martyrdom of the brave warriors. The artist requested the devotees in the country and abroad to make more such models and establish museums, libraries, various gurudwaras wherever possible so that the present generation can know about their history. Many such models prepared by Gurpreet Singh have been displayed in many countries including England, Canada, Singapore. Even before this, due to his special and unique art, he was given the responsibility of paper work in the Parliament of Australia by the Australian Government, which he performed very well. For this work he was also specially honored by the Australian Government.
