The Government is considering to do away with the facility of 50 additional points through LMIA.
Winnipeg: The Canadian government is increasing the problems of Punjabis by taking tough decisions day by day. Now the Labour Market Impact Assessment (LMIA), the last route for Punjabis to settle in Canada, is also being discontinued. Immigration Minister Mark Miller said the LMIA is being widely misused for Canadian PR and the federal government is considering ending the 50 extra points facility available through it. People are being cheated in the name of labour market impact assessment and up to 70 thousand dollars are being demanded for a paper in the black market. In view of this, the Canadian government is being forced to tighten immigration rules. According to the information received, LMIAs are prepared for fake jobs and the youth are exploited on a large scale. Currently, the CRS score for Canadian PR is running above 500 and 50 additional points of LMIA are effective in achieving PR but in most cases this feature is being used for fraud.
