Vancouver: Apna Punjab Media: The Government of Canada has decided to permanently shut down the routes of extortion by transporters, food and beverage chains, healthcare organizations (NAI) and other sectors under the pretext of needing temporary foreign workers. Canada’s Employment Minister Randy Boisnoil has informed about limiting the LMIA (Labor Market Impact Assessment) program, which has become a source of illegal income for some businessmen and invites foreigners under the guise of skilled workers. Canadians have called it the right decision taken late. In the letter issued by the Employment and Social Development Department, it has been said that now the policy of rejecting the applications received for the first time under this program will be implemented. The minister said that through this program the workers have become victims of low wages and other exploitations. In the year 2018, 1,08,988 foreigners were invited under this program, while in 2023 this number has more than doubled to 2,39,646.
