India today won the T-20 Cricket World Cup title once again after 17 years, thanks to the half-century of Virat Kohli (76 runs) and the brilliant bowling of fast bowlers Arshdeep Singh, Jasprit Bumrah and Hardik Pandya. Indian cricket team reached the final for the first time and won the title by defeating South Africa by 7 runs. Batting first, India scored 176 runs for 7 wickets in 20 overs thanks to Virat Kohli’s 76 runs, Akshar Patel’s 47 runs and Shivam Dubey’s 27 runs and then stopped South Africa at 169/8.
The Indian team won the T20 Cricket World Cup for the first time in 2007 under the leadership of Mahindra Singh Dhoni. However, this is the first ICC title for the Indian team after 11 years after winning the Champions Trophy in 2013. Along with this, India has become the third country to win the T20 Cricket World Cup twice. Earlier, West Indies (2012 and 2016) and England (2010 and 2022) have done this.
Earlier, chasing a target of 177 runs, the South African team appeared to be winning once but the opposition batsmen could not succeed in front of the tight bowling of the Indian fast bowlers. South Africa’s Henrik Klaasen top scored with 52 runs while Quinton de Kock scored 39 runs, Tristan Stubbs scored 31 runs and David Miller scored 21 runs. For India, Hardik Pandya took three wickets while Arshdeep Singh and Jasprit Bumrah took two wickets. Akshar Patel took one wicket. Earlier, captain Rohit Sharma, Rishabh Pant and Suryakumar Yadav failed to perform well.
