Further action will be taken after Panj Singh’s meeting
Amritsar: Apna Punjab Media: Shiromani Akali Dal President Sukhbir Singh Badal appeared before Shri Akal Takht today. He submitted his explanation in a sealed envelope to Akal Takht Jathedar Giani Raghbir Singh.
Jathedar Raghbir Singh said that further action will be taken after considering this clarification in the meeting of Panj Singh Sahibans. Shiromani Committee President Harjinder Singh Dhami has also presented his clarification on Akal Takht. In the meeting of Panj Singh Sahibs held on July 15, Jathedar Giani Raghbir Singh had ordered Shiromani Akali Dal President Sukhbir Singh Badal to appear in person within 15 days and give clarification on the allegations made by the opposing group.
President Badal today submitted his explanation to Jathedar Giani Raghbir Singh regarding the above allegations. On this occasion, senior leader of Shiromani Akali Dal, Dr. Daljit Singh Cheema, Balwinder Singh Bhundar, Mahesh Inder Singh Grewal and others were present. Before this he paid obeisance at Sri Harmandir Sahib and Sri Akal Takht. He used to shy away from talking to the media. Jathedar Giani Raghbir Singh said that the clarification given by Sukhbir Singh Badal has been received and further action will be taken after considering it in the meeting of Panj Singh Sahibs. It is noteworthy that the leaders of the dissident faction of Shiromani Akali Dal, Bibi Jagir Kaur, Prem Singh Chandu Majra, Parminder Singh Dhindsa and others had appealed for Khimma Yachha by giving a letter at Shri Akal Takht on July 1. In this letter, he had alleged that during the Shiromani Akali Dal government, big mistakes and errors had been committed by the Akali government. At that time he was also part of the Akali Dal government and is feeling the burden of these lapses and mistakes. In this letter, he made four important allegations against Shiromani Akali Dal President Sukhbir Singh Badal. These include withdrawal of the case registered against the Dera chief in the Salabatpura case, the government’s failure to take action against the accused in the 2015 sacrilege case, the government’s use of influence to pardon the Dera Sirsa chief and the appointment of Sumedh Saini as DGP. . More were involved. Shiromani Akali Dal is currently facing internal crisis. Yesterday Sukhbir Singh Badal also dissolved the core committee which included the leaders of the angry group. The angry party is also demanding Sukhbir Singh Badal to step down from the post of president.
On the other hand, on behalf of Shiromani Committee, President Harjinder Singh Dhami has also given an explanation in a closed envelope. Gurcharan Singh Grewal, Alvinder Singh Pakhoke and Secretary Pratap Singh were present with him on this occasion. The Shiromani Committee is accused of giving advertisements worth about Rs 90 lakh in the media publicizing the issue of pardoning the Dera Sirsa chief, whereas due to Sangat Roh, Dera Sirsa later pardoned the Jathedar of Shri Akal Takht. The decision had to be withdrawn. Therefore, due to the expenditure of Rs 90 lakh, there was additional burden on Guru’s Golak.
