SAD president Sukhbir Badal demanded the resignation of the Chief Minister for failing to purchase crops at MSP.

Chandigarh: Apna Punjab Media: Akali Dal President Sukhbir Singh Badal has targeted Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann. He said, “Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann has caused huge loss to the farmers by refusing to buy maize crop at MSP for the third consecutive time, hence Bhagwant Mann should resign from the post of Chief Minister.” He said that the farmers in the state who have sold maize, groundnut and sunflower crops at rates lower than the MSP should be compensated immediately. Mr. Badal has also accused the Chief Minister of cheating farmers in the name of crop diversification. He said the Chief Minister first encouraged farmers to plant groundnut, maize and sunflower and gave them guarantee to buy all the crops at MSP, leaving the farmers at the mercy of private traders when the time came to buy the crops.
