Nabha: Apna Punjab Media: Navdeep Kaur, 22, daughter of Gurpreet Singh, resident of Palia village of Nabha, died of brain hemorrhage in a hospital in Canada. Navdeep was undergoing treatment at a hospital in Brampton. Gurpreet Singh said that on September 7, Navdeep suddenly collapsed during a conference call with relatives in India and his roommate called an ambulance. On September 11, doctors told the family over the phone that he had a blood clot in his brain and would have to undergo surgery. Then according to the doctors, the operation went well and the next 72 hours passed, but Navdeep still needed to be put on a ventilator. Then on the 19th, the doctors informed father Gurpreet Singh about Navdeep’s deteriorating condition and decided to remove him from the ventilator. Gurpreet Singh, father of two daughters, said no one else in the house had a passport and he could only hear about the situation over the phone. He said, “Seeing the environment here regarding my elder daughter Navdeep, who is brilliant in studies, the teachers advised to send her out. After giving it away, I, being less educated, sold my land totaling 9 acres and conveniently took my daughter to Canada for two years. Now the work permit was being arranged by her college but she left us. She has appealed to the government for help so that she can perform the last rites of her daughter.
