Punjabi Sports Club wins Metro Kabaddi Cup, second title of Toronto Punjabi Club

Winnipeg: Apna Punjab Media: The Kabaddi Cup was organized by the Metro Punjabi Sports Club under the banner of Kabaddi Federation of Ontario. Toronto Punjabi Sports Club got the honor of winning it. This was the second title win of Toronto Punjabi Club in Toronto Kabaddi Season-2024. The International Punjabi Sports Club team finished as the runner-up during this fifth cup of the season. Jasmanpreet Raju and Jagga Chitti won the honors of being the best batsman and stopper respectively. In the junior teams competition, Gabhret of International Punjabi Sports Club stood first for the fifth consecutive time.
In the first match of this cup, Toronto Punjabi Sports Club defeated United Brampton Sports Club by 40-31.5 points and made it to the semi-finals. In the second match, Metro Punjabi Sports Club, O.K.C. Reached the semi-finals after defeating Kabaddi Club by 38.5-36 points. In the third match, GTA Kabaddi Club team defeated United Brampton Sports Club team by 36.5-36 points. In the fourth match, International Punjabi Sports Club defeated OKC. The club team was defeated by 34-27.5 points and secured a place in the semi-finals. In the first semi-final, the Toronto Punjabi Sports Club team defeated the host Metro Punjabi Sports Club team by 37-36.5 points to reach the final. In the second semi-final, the International Punjabi Sports Club team defeated the GTA Club team by a huge margin of 45.5-33 points. In a very exciting final match, the team of Toronto Punjabi Sports Club won the title by defeating the team of International Punjabi Sports Club by 48.5-46 points. For the fifth consecutive time in the Under-21 category, coaches Bhola Litt and Surinder Tony Kalkh trained the winners of the International Punjabi Sports Club. Metro Punjabi Sports Club team was the runner up. Toronto Punjabi Sports Club player Jasmanpreet Singh Raju, the winner of this cup, scored 29 runs by scoring 32 runs and won the title of best run scorer. Runner-up Jagga Chitti of the International Punjabi Sports Club team won the best stoppers book with 11 hugs from 32 attempts. Both players won the said titles for the first time during this season.
