Punjabi Folk Dance Association reconstituted the committee and started preparations for Gidha Cup.

Brisbane: Apna Punjab Media: An important meeting related to the first Gidda Cup being organized by Punjabi Folk Dance Association was held in Brisbane, Australia under the leadership of Mandeep Singh. Representatives of all the academies associated with the association participated in this meeting. Giving information about Giddha Cup, President Rupinder Singh said that a total of 22 teams of different categories from Australia and New Zealand are participating in the cup to be held in Brisbane on 24th August. International level judges and very famous personalities related to vultures are taking part in this cup. All the members present on this occasion unanimously signed the re-formation of the Folk Dance Association Brisbane. On this occasion, Rupinder Singh (Surtal Academy) was appointed president, Gurjit Baria (Hip Hop Bhangra) as secretary, folk singer Rajdeep Singh Lali.
