Sacramento (Hussain Ladoa Banga) The USA Track & Field Outdoor Championships took place at American River College Stadium in Sacramento, featuring nearly 3,000 male and female athletes from around the world. Apart from Australia, United Kingdom, Ireland, Mexico, Peru and India, athletes from other countries also participated in this meet. Five Punjabi boys also participated in these games. Fresno’s Gurbaksh Singh Sidhu took bronze in the hammer throw and fourth in the weight throw. Balwinder Singh Khatra of Los Angeles area won silver medal in javelin throw. Fresno’s Sukhnain Singh finished 5th in the triple jump and 8th in the long jump. Selma’s Kulwant Singh Lambar, also a retired Punjab Police officer, participated in the discus throw Finished 8th and 5th in javelin throw. From the Indian side, Punjab Police officer Jaspinder Singh won the bronze medal in 100 meter hurdles in this track and field competition.
