New Delhi: Apna Punjab Media: Leaders of the Samyukt Kisan Morcha (Non-Political) were stopped at Delhi’s Indira Gandhi Airport before leaving for Tamil Nadu and their tickets cancelled. He was not allowed to board the plane because security staff had discovered him. Three farmer leaders of the Morcha, Jagjit Singh Dallewal, Baldev Singh Sirsa and Sukhdev Singh Bhojpur, reached the airport today as part of their plan to go from Punjab to Tiruchirappalli and Puducherry in Tamil Nadu. These farmer leaders were to hold meetings and press conferences at both the southern locations regarding the minimum support price and other demands of the Morcha. Mr. Dallewal said that the BJP led central government is scared of the expansion of the farmers’ movement. The government is thinking that the movement will not be very effective in the states with assembly elections. He said that before this he had traveled by air ten times wearing Sri Sahib, but no one ever stopped him. He said that Sukhdev Singh Bhojpur was not even wearing Sri Sahib, but still he was not allowed to travel by air. Jagjit Singh Dallewal and colleagues also showed the tickets canceled by the airport authority. He also scolded the leaders of the Sikh community that Sikhs are being made to feel like slaves and why they do not take the matter forward.
