Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra on Thursday took oath as a member of the Lok Sabha after winning the by-election from Wayanad in Kerala. The 52-year-old Congress leader, like his brother Rahul Gandhi, took oath in Hindi while holding a copy of the Constitution. Ravindra Chavan (Congress), who won the Nanded bypoll, also took oath in Marathi in the name of God. The by-election was necessitated by the death of his father Vasantrao Chavan. Priyanka Gandhi entered active politics in 2019 and was later appointed Congress general secretary. He won from Wayanad in Kerala by a margin of over 4.1 lakh votes.
