New Delhi: Apna Punjab Media: President Draupadi Murmu and Prime Minister Narendra Modi have congratulated shooters Manu Bhaker and Sarbjot Singh for winning the bronze medal in the 10m air pistol mixed team event at the Paris Olympics. The Indian pair of Bhakar and Sarabjot defeated Korea’s Lee Wonho and Oh Ye Jin 16-10 and gave the country its second medal in this Olympics. Bhakar has become the first Indian athlete since independence to win two medals in one Olympics. Earlier, she had won a bronze medal in the women’s 10 meter air pistol event.
President Murmu wrote on X, Congratulations to Manu Bhaker and Sarbjot Singh for winning the bronze medal for India in the mixed team shooting 10 meter air pistol competition! Manu Bhaker has created history by becoming the first female shooter from India to win two medals in the same Olympic Games. I wish him and Sarabjot Singh all the best for more great achievements in the future.
PM Modi shared the post on social media and wrote – ‘Our shooters make us proud… and congratulations to Sarbjot Singh for winning the bronze medal in the 10 meter air pistol mixed team event in the Olympics. Both have shown excellent skills and teamwork.
