Phoenix Hockey Club wins international field hockey tournament

Surrey: Apna Punjab Media: West Coast Kings Field Hockey Society hosts a four-day Canada Cup International Field Hockey Tournament at Tammanwis Park Surrey. A large number of spectators enjoyed hockey competitions of various categories. In the final match, the Phoenix Hockey Club team won the 2024 Canada Cup by defeating the Yuba Brothers team 4-2. During the final match, players of both the teams showed excellent performance. Prizes were distributed by Liberal MPs to the winning teams and best players. Done by Sukh Dhaliwal, sponsor and officials of the society. The winning hockey teams were awarded trophies and cash prizes and the best selected players were given special cash prizes. Tournament Men’s Premier Division 1st Place Canada Cup + $10,000 Phoenix Field Hockey Club (1st Prize sponsored by Sanghera Brothers Apna Group), 2nd Place, Trophy + $5,000 Yuba Brothers, 3rd Place, Trophy + $2,500 West Coast Kings Field Hockey Society and 4th Place Photo XI Hockey Club won. In the competitive division, 1st place, trophy +$3,000 was won by Surinder Lions, 2nd place +$1,500 was won by West Coast Kings, 1st place in the under 16 division, trophy +$1,500 was won by Panther Field Hockey Club, 2nd place, trophy +$1,000 was won by United Calgary. First place in the girls competition, trophy + $5,000 was won by Eagle Mexico (Sponsor Jagtar Dhaliwal), second place in the Mandeep Dhaliwal Memorial competition, trophy + $2,000 was won by West Coast Kings.
