Pakistan has issued a commemorative coin of Rs 55 denomination to mark the 555th birth anniversary of Guru Nanak Dev. On one side of the coin is a picture of Gurdwara Janam Asthan Nankana Sahib and on the top and bottom is a picture of 555th Prakash Purb celebrations and Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji 1469-2024. The coin also has a picture of the moon and a star. According to the State Bank of Pakistan, the coin contains 79 per cent copper, 20 per cent zinc and 1 per cent nickel. It measures 30mm and weighs 13.5 grams. On the other hand, more than 2500 Sikh pilgrims from India have also left for their homes to celebrate the birth anniversary of Guru Nanak Dev ji here. The celebrations began on November 14 at Gurdwara Janam Asthan Nankana Sahib, where the founder of Sikhism was born.
