Opposition parties united against not holding PU Senate elections, said- Centre’s bullying will not be tolerated

The issue of not holding Senate elections of Panjab University is gaining momentum. On Thursday, opposition parties Shiromani Akali Dal and Punjab Congress expressed solidarity with the non-holding of Senate elections and launched a fierce attack against the central government. A large number of workers, including senior leaders of the opposition party Akali Dal and Congress, participated in the protest against the central government on behalf of Punjab University Bachao Morcha. On this occasion, Shiromani Akali Dal’s working president Balwinder Singh Bhundar, Dr. Congress leaders including Daljit Singh Cheema, Pratap Singh Bajwa, Pratt Singh were present. Addressing the gathering on the occasion, Leader of Opposition in the Assembly Pratap Singh Bajwa said that the autonomy of Punjab University is being weakened by the BJP led central government.
