Amritsar: Apna Punjab Media: North American Punjabi Association condemned the attack on NRI in Amritsar. North American Punjabi Association (NAPA) has strongly condemned the attack on an NRI in Amritsar, Punjab. The association described the incident as “deeply disturbing”. On Saturday, Sukhchain Singh was shot dead by two assailants in front of his family outside his house in Daburji village of Amritsar. The man, who had recently returned from the US, was attacked in the presence of his wife and two children from a previous marriage. NAP Executive Director Satnam Singh Chahal has expressed his concern in a statement emphasizing the seriousness of the incident.
Chahal stressed that such acts of violence not only harm the victims but also create a sense of fear and insecurity within the migrant community. He highlighted the importance of security and respect for diaspora Indians who maintain strong cultural ties and make significant contributions to their home state. Chahal urged the authorities to take the situation seriously to prevent further incidents and restore confidence in the NRI community. The attack took place when two motorcycle-borne assailants arrived outside Singh’s house and inquired about the registration documents of his luxury vehicle. Before he could react, the assailants took out pistols and forced him to death inside his house, where they fired three bullets at him before fleeing the scene.
