Modi-Putin Agreement Saves 6,000 km, India-Russia Shipments to Reach in 24 Days

In the latest News Headlines India Today, during Russian President Vladimir Putinโ€™s visit to India, an important discussion took place on the Chennaiโ€“Vladivostok Eastern Corridor. This new sea route will cover approximately 10,370 km, allowing Indian shipments to reach Russia in just 24 days.

Currently, ships traveling from India to Saint Petersburg, Russia, cover 16,060 km, taking about 40 days. The new route will save nearly 5,700 km and reduce transit time by 16 days.

During the meeting between Putin and Prime Minister Narendra Modi on December 5, both leaders agreed to launch this route quickly. Experts believe that in times of global tension, this corridor will prove to be a safe, fast, and reliable option.

Both countries have also set a target to increase India-Russia trade to 100 billion dollars by 2030. At present, the trade volume is around 60 billion dollars. This development has been widely reported in News Headlines India Today, highlighting its significance for international trade.
