Under The Parent Resident Visa, New Zealanders will now be able to have their parents live with them permanently. Visa rules state that you can live permanently with a New Zealand citizen or resident child, provided they earn enough money and agree to live with you. The process of Parent Resident Visa (EOI) involves submitting an expression of interest. If it meets the requirements, an Invitation to Apply (ITA) is issued by Immigration New Zealand (INZ). () ITA-eligible individuals can apply for residency within four months.
The cost of a resident visa starts from 3180 New Zealand dollars. More than two lakh people from India live in New Zealand, so Indians will directly benefit from this. According to Financial Express ()INZ can approve a maximum of 2000 visas per year from people submitting ()EOI before the announcement of resumption of elections on October 10, 2022. A maximum of 500 visas can be granted in a year to people submitting EOI on or after October 10, 2022. These EOIs are selected through a draw. If someone has submitted (EOI) under Parent Resident Visa before October 12, it can be withdrawn or updated.
