Bharti Aghi said that the focus of the budget is to reduce the deficit from 5.3 percent to 4.9 percent. “This is a fairly balanced budget. From a macro perspective, the focus is on bringing the deficit down from 5.3 per cent to 4.9 per cent. Therefore this is a very responsible budget. Budget focuses on employment generation, skills to attract FDI to create more jobs.
He stressed that it is important to understand that a large part of the money is distributed to first-time salary earners on a monthly basis. A lot of money has been invested in skilling a lot of people, which will help, because you have to understand that today only 51 percent of graduates are skilled enough to join the workforce, and ten years ago it was about 34 percent.
