Surrey: Apna Punjab Media: Yesterday, the Progressive Intercultural Community Services (PICS) Society organized a ‘Mega Job Fair’ at the North Surrey Sports and Ice Complex. More than 60 exhibitors participated in the fair, continuing its tradition of fostering relationships between potential workers and employers. The job fair featured a wide range of companies, including title sponsor BC Corrections and bronze sponsors Western Community College, University Canada West, Pix Foreign Credential Recognition and Pix Career Services. Exhibitors ranging from private businesses to public sector organizations offered on-the-spot interviews and immediate job opportunities and created a dynamic environment for job seekers. Attendees had the opportunity to engage with representatives from employers such as Fraser Health, Swift Management and SecureGuard, service companies such as ICBC and WorkSafe, and educational institutions such as Kwantlen Polytechnic University, BCIT and Langara College.
MP Randeep Sarai, who reached the fair, praised the fair and described it as one of the best employment fairs. S. Sarai encouraged job seekers to take advantage of available opportunities. Satbir Singh Cheema, President and CEO of Pix Society, and Raj Hundal, Senior Director of Employment, Planning and Program Development at Pix Society, thanked all employers, non-profit organizations, the City of Surrey and provincial and federal government for their support. He said that ‘2024 Mega Job Fair’ has once again proved to be an important platform for job seekers and employers.
