The North American Punjabi Association (NAPA) has questioned the Punjab governmentโs decision to call repeated special sessions of the Punjab Legislative Assembly. According to the latest Punjab news, NAPA Executive Director Satnam Singh Chahal said these sessions have not delivered meaningful results.
Chahal stated that the resolutions passed during these sessions remain unimplemented. He said the government must focus on outcomes instead of frequent meetings. As per the latest Punjab news, NAPA highlighted the financial impact of these sessions.
The association said each special session costs the state exchequer nearly โน1 crore. NAPA called this spending irresponsible during a period of financial strain and unemployment in Punjab. It stressed that public money should support essential services.
NAPA urged the Punjab government to publish a transparent public report on the status of all passed resolutions. The association also asked the government to avoid calling special sessions without a clear and defined agenda.
