Record fund of 10 million dollars collected in one day
Washington: Apna Punjab Media: Current US Vice President Kamala Harris has received the necessary support of delegates to become the presidential candidate of the Democratic Party. According to US media reports, the Vice President has received support from potential opponents, lawmakers, governors and influential groups. Apart from this, a record fund of 100 million dollars was collected for Harris’s election campaign from Sunday afternoon to Monday evening. 11 lakh people contributed money for this campaign.
Regarding Kamala Harris’s first day of campaigning, Harris, of Indian and African descent, has received more than 1,976 delegates needed to become the Democratic Party’s presidential nominee. According to the information, till Monday night Harris had received the support of at least 2579 delegates. “I look forward to formal approval of the nomination very soon,” Harris, 59, said in a statement released late Monday.
According to media reports, preparations are being made by party officials to formally confirm the nomination of the candidate before the Democratic Party’s national convention to be held in Chicago from August 19 to 22. It is already clear that now the biggest question is who will Harris choose as the Vice Presidential candidate from the party. Addressing her supporters, Kamala Harris said, “We have 106 days left and during this time we have to work very hard.” He assured leaders working for Biden’s campaign that they would be given due respect.
