Along with this, he also made it clear that he is no longer a contender in the US presidential elections. Let us tell you that after the current President Joe Biden, the next contender of the Democrats will be the current Vice President Kamala Harris. This decision of Biden has come at a time when his fellow Democrats were continuously putting pressure on him and saying that he is proving to be a weak candidate against Donald Trump. Announcing his withdrawal from the presidential election, Biden said that it has been an honor for him to serve as President of the United States. Along with this, he said that as far as contesting the elections is concerned, keeping in mind the interest of the party and the country, he is taking the decision of not contesting the presidential election.
“My fellow Democrats, I have decided not to accept the nomination and will now use my best efforts to fulfill my duties for the remainder of my term as President,” Joe Biden tweeted. Biden said that after becoming a presidential contender in the 2020 election, his first decision was to choose Kamala Harris as his vice president. Biden further said, “Today I want to give my full support to Kamala Harris to make her the party’s candidate this year.” Here he also targeted Donald Trump. Attacking Republican presidential candidate Trump, he said, ‘Come on Democrats, now is the time to come together and defeat Trump.’
