Italy: Two Indian citizens arrested for enslaving farm workers

Rome: Apna Punjab Media: Two Indian nationals have been arrested for enslaving 33 farm workers in Italy’s Verona province. According to reports, the Finance Police have also seized assets worth 475,000 euros from the suspects, who own two companies in the agriculture sector with no employees and are also accused of tax evasion. Let us tell you that two people have been arrested on Saturday and investigation is being done against them in cases of forced labor and exploitation and other crimes. The issue of modern forms of slave labor in Italy recently came into the media spotlight following the death of 31-year-old farm worker Satnam Singh. Last month he had an arm amputated after being crushed by a machine in Lazio, near Rome, and was left to die on the road by his owner.
