Indian student accused of giving wrong documents for admission to an American university will be deported

New York: Apna Punjab Media: An Indian student arrested for falsifying documents to get admission in a US university will be sent home under a deal reached with US authorities. Arya Anand (19) submitted fake documents to get admission in Lehigh University of Pennsylvania in the academic session 2023-24. Anand has manipulated the documents related to admission and financial aid. According to the report, he also ‘falsely claimed his father’s death’ to get admission and scholarship. Anand was tried in the court of Magisterial District Judge Jordan Knisley, with the bail amount set at US$25,000. He was convicted of forgery.
