Milwaukee: Apna Punjab Media: Indian-origin Republican Party leader Nikki Haley has supported former President Donald Trump as the party’s candidate for the presidential election. With this, the bitterness going on between the two during the primary elections seems to be ending. Haley challenged Trump for the 2024 Republican presidential nomination and campaigned against him for several months, but later announced her withdrawal from the race.
Haley gave the party a shout-out during the national convention by instructing its 97 delegates to vote for Trump. Haley said during the conference in Milwaukee, “I will say one thing clearly that Donald Trump has my full support.” After getting the votes of the delegates in this convention, Trump has become the official candidate of the Republican Party for the post of President. He will give a speech accepting the nomination on Thursday. Haley told thousands of delegates and party leaders that Trump is the best candidate for the country and that he is capable of defeating Joe Biden. In his speech, he defended the former President’s foreign policy and asked voters who disagreed on some issues to vote for Trump to save America.
