Defeated many contenders in the primary elections: Amish Shah has also been a member of the lower house of the state. In the primary elections, Shah got 1629 votes, which is 23.4 percent of the total votes. Shah’s main rival Cherney had to face defeat by 21.4 percent votes. In addition to Shah and Cherney, former news anchor Marlene Galen Woods, orthodontist Andrew Horn, former regional CEO of the American Red Cross Kurt Cromer, and investment banker Conor O’Callaghan were also running in the Democratic primary from Arizona.
Will face Republican candidate in November: Shah will face Republican Party candidate David Schweikert in the November elections for the lower house of the US House of Representatives.
