Washington: Apna Punjab Media: On the eve of the meeting between Defense Minister Rajnath Singh and Defense Secretary Austin Lloyd, the Pentagon said that military-to-military relations between India and the United States are strong. Rajnath Singh arrived in Washington on Thursday morning as part of a four-day visit to further promote the comprehensive global strategic partnership between the two countries. He is scheduled to meet Austin at the Pentagon on Friday. “The relationship between America and India is strong,” Pentagon Deputy Press Secretary Sabrina Singh told reporters at a press conference here. The collaboration is deep, and not just from the DoD perspective, but also from the administration perspective. Our close coordination and teamwork is strong. You know when the (Defence) Secretary visited India, he announced some achievements, Sabrina Singh said in response to a question. “I wouldn’t revisit everything he’s announced, but it’s strong,” she said. Minister Singh arrived here on Thursday to give further impetus to the comprehensive global strategic partnership between the two countries. India’s plan to purchase 31 MQ-9B Predator drones, proposed joint manufacturing of Stryker infantry fighting vehicles and co-production of GE F414 engines in India are likely to figure prominently in Singh’s talks with Austin.
