Kathmandu: Apna Punjab Media: In the case of two buses washed away in the river due to landslide in Nepal recently, rescue workers have recovered one more body today, after which the number of dead in this accident has increased to five. Two buses carrying 65 passengers, including seven Indians, were washed away in the flood-hit Trishuli river on Friday in Simaltal area of Chitwan district of Nepal on the Narayanghat-Mugling road. Three of these passengers swam out safely. Rescue workers have recovered the fifth body from Gandakot-7 today. A police officer was quoted as saying that so far only five bodies, including that of an Indian, have been recovered during the rescue operation after this accident.
Officials said that three dead, including an Indian national, have been identified, while two others are being identified. The Indian citizen was identified from his identity card found in his pocket. Police said that the first body was found 50 km away from the incident site on Saturday morning. The deceased has been identified as Rishi Pal Shahi (40) of Bihar. Police said that this body was found in Narayani river of Chitwan district. An Indian identity card was found in the clothes of the dead body. Police said rescue workers recovered two more bodies from Gandakot area of East Nawalparasi district in the afternoon. Both of them were Nepali citizens and were missing after the accident. Apart from Shahi, other Indian nationals missing in the accident have been identified as Santosh Thakur, Surinder Sah, Adit Mian, Sunil, Shahnawaz Alam and Ansari. According to Nepali officials, along with the Army, Nepal Police and Armed Police personnel, divers are also engaged in searching for the missing people.
