Vancouver: Apna Punjab Media: Another accomplice of some members of the extortion gang arrested by Peel police last week has been arrested by the police, while a nationwide notice has been issued to search for another accused. The arrested accused has been identified as Jaskaran Singh (30), a resident of Toronto. There are 17 charges against him. He was already on bail in other such cases. Police have issued a warrant across Canada through the court for the arrest of another accused, Saskatchewan resident Jagmohanjit Jhite (47). Police believe the man is now hiding in the Peel area. The police have released his photograph and appealed to the people to help the police in arresting the accused. According to the police, Jhite is also involved in committing the same crime after being released on bail in many cases.
It is noteworthy that due to the liberal nature of Canada’s bail laws, professional criminals do not refrain from violating bail conditions and committing other crimes. People have been demanding from the government for many years that the rules regarding bail of criminals should be made strict. This issue has also been discussed in the Parliament and its options are being explored.
